Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV is a 20.1 Mega pixel Point and Shoot camera with 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor with DRAM chip that work together to increase the readout rate of image data. It has the super slow-motion mode, which slows video capture down by 40...

Sony Cybershot RX100 IV Review

The Sony RX100 Mark IV is one of the best compact cameras made till date, providing full manual control and good dynamic range, thus making it a very versatile camera. However, the lack of touchscreen input and a mis-functioning autofocus mechanism...

Small, fits in trouser pockets ; Good build ; Excellent image quality ; Good dynamic range ; Extensive manual controls ; WiFi connectivity ; Excellent electronic viewfinder

Restricted range of lens ; Autofocus mechanism does not work well ; Weak battery stamina ; No touch input ; WiFi configuration is not the easiest

Sony RX100 IV review

Sony goes fourth to conquer the compact competition

Excellent image quality ; 4K videos ; Brilliantly fun HFR mode ; Pocket-sized

Prohibitive price ; Limited zoom range

Sony’s pocket rocket is a compact with almost no compromises

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX 100

The RX-100, with its beautiful design, is aimed towards enthusiasts and beginners looking to make the jump to a more advanced camera. The camera is only 13.2 mm x 8.8 mm in dimensions and feels really light in your hand. The glossy feel of the design...

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV review

Like its predecessor, the RX100 IV is expensive, but it's also the best compact camera you can buy.

1-inch, 20.1MP “stacked” CMOS sensor ; Outstanding photos and videos ; 4K and super-slow-motion modes ; Improved EVF

Even pricier than before ; Limited focal range ; Mediocre battery life

Like the RX100 Mark III, the Mark IV earns our Editor’s Choice. This small package is expensive and it’s a niche camera, but it’s possibly the best compact digicam you can buy; there is some truly amazing enhanced performance over its predecessor and...

Sony RX100 IV

The Sony RX100 IV is the fourth instalment in what has become our favourite compact camera series. Since its beginnings in 2012, it has given us pocket-friendly models that offer image quality good enough to satisfy high-end DSLR-wielders on those days...

Pocketable size ; Excellent shooting speed ; Versatile video ; Great image quality at lower ISOs

Intimidating price

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV offers serious video improvements over the RX100 III, but it is very expensive for a compact camera.

Wide-aperture zoom lens. 1-inch image sensor. Strong low light performance. 16.1fps burst shooting. Customizable controls. Large, tilting LCD. Pop-up OLED EVF. Quick autofocus. Raw shooting support. Wi-Fi with NFC. Super slow-motion video. 4K recording.

Expensive. Short zoom range. Omits hot shoe. External charger not included.

Conclusions Sony has added features to its RX100 line with each new generation. The Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV is a more iterative update to its predecessor in terms of imaging capability, with the main benefit being a faster burst capture rate. Its EVF...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV Review

Sony rejuvenated the premium compact market in 2012 when it introduced the Cyber-shot DSC-RX100. The RX100 took a 1"-type sensor and relatively fast zoom lens and put it into a body that can slip into your pocket. Every year since has seen the arrival...

Some of the best image quality in any compact camera, ever Impressively sharp 24-70mm equiv lens remains usefully bright throughout zoom range Impressive image stabilization for stills, dramatically effective in video Well implemented Eye AF system...

Extensive feature set overwhelms the user interface As a twin-dial camera, could be programmed better to make full use of both dials Expensive compared to rivals Short battery life Lock-on AF can be unpredictable and laggy Lens range will be limiting...

The RX100 IV continues the line's tradition of packing as much image and video quality into as small a package as possible. The RX100 IV is also an incredibly responsive camera; fast and ready to churn out high quality images and video with tools...

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV review

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV (M4) is less of an clear upgraade over its predecessor the RX100 III (M3) than a forked alternative; for a variety of reasons, I'd classify it as an advanced compact for video enthusiasts rather than a straight-up advanced...

Great video features to supplement its 4K capabilities distinguish the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV from the rest of the advanced-compact pack. It also retains the nice design perks, like a popup electronic viewfinder, of the earlier RX100 models.

Like its predecessor, the autofocus system could be more consistent and the battery life has gotten even worse.

A nice choice if you're looking for an advanced compact with class-leading video capabilities, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV is a little expensive if you just want a good camera for shooting stills.
