Samsung Galaxy S9 review: A refined evolution

While it's not perfect, the Galaxy S9 is a fantastic device. It's got a brilliant display, great camera, brilliant performance all-round, and in a

Brilliant display ; Stereo sound is surprisingly powerful ; Curved glass and metal is very attractive ; Comfortable to use ; Super speedy and fluid performance

Battery isn't great ; Camera over-exposes highlights regularly ; AR Emoji and Bixby need a lot of improving ; Expensive

While it’s not perfect, the Galaxy S9 is a fantastic device. It’s got a brilliant display, great camera, brilliant performance all-round, and in a body that’s easily one of the most elegant ever released. Its stereo sound makes such a difference to...

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

Where the S8 was great, the S9 is only fine

Swift biometric security ; Awesome low-light performance ; The most powerful Android phone out

Design is identical to S8 ; Some camera snaps lack vibrancy ; Expensive

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is a great phone, but one that hasn't really kicked on from the Galaxy S8, bringing a very similar design and screen to 2017's version. The improved biometrics were sorely needed, and the camera is a leap forward, but the amazing...

Samsung Galaxy S9 initial review: A refined evolution

Pick up the Samsung Galaxy S9 and you might not know you're holding Samsung's latest phone: from the exterior this phone looks almost exactly the same

In many ways the Samsung Galaxy S9 is a repeat performance of the Galaxy S8 and that's no bad thing. Samsung's great phone from 2017 is back and better than before.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review: Is the Android phone of the year already here?

Samsung Galaxy S9 review, price and release date: Samsung's got some big competition from Apple but how does the Galaxy S9 compare?

Fantastic display ; Feels great ; Much improved speakers

Average battery life ; Dual-sensor only on Plus model ; Some lag with Samsung’s software

Battery life on the Samsung Galaxy S9 is almost exactly the same as last year’s S8. Even with the switch to a more efficient mobile chip, it’s a shame Samsung hasn’t really been able to squeeze any more juice from the 3000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Feels great in one hand. Excellent low-light camera performance. Better sound and network support than the Galaxy S8.

Not a radical upgrade from the Galaxy S8. Larger S9+ model has better cameras, more RAM, and stronger Wi-Fi performance.

Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

The Galaxy S9 is a perfect-sized phone with a fantastic camera and great performance.

Excellent display ; Great 5.8-inch size ; Good speakers ; Strong performance ; Stunning low-light camera

Battery life is lower than competition ; Slow Android updates ; Camera not as versatile as S9 Plus

The Galaxy S9 is a comfortable and compact phone that offers a fantastic camera and great performance. We do think the S9 Plus is worth it for the second, versatile camera, but the S9’s perfect size makes it hard to ignore.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

The best Android phone in the world just got (slightly) better

Refined, stylish design with gorgeous curved screen ; Improved low-light camera, excellent slo-mo video ; All the features you'd want in a flagship

Improved camera still can't quite beat the best ; Hard to tell the S9 apart from the S8 ; Fingerprint sensor still a bit close to the camera

Easily the best all-round Android phone you can buy today

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Incrementally better in all the right places

Samsung's Galaxy S9 isn't the revolutionary design breakthrough that the Galaxy S8 was, but it's no less of a great phone.

The Infinity Display is even better than the one on the S8. ; Camera takes fantastic pics in all kinds of light. ; Fingerprint sensor is in a much better location.

Camera features like Dual Aperture and Super Slow-mo are a little gimmicky. ; AR Emoji is fun but not as advanced as Apple's Animoji. ; The single camera is great, but the S9+'s dual camera would have been better.

Anyone who’s in the market for a new phone should seriously consider buying an S9. It might be an insignificant upgrade in terms of physical design, but that’s a concern only if you really, really want people to know you have the latest and greatest...
