Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: A true flagship to take on the best of them

From the time we've been living with our mocha brown Huawei Mate 10 Pro, it's clear that Huawei has finally cracked this category. It's a flagship

Possibly the best-looking flagship phone right now ; Plenty of power and smooth operation ; EMUI 8.0 software is about as close to Android Oreo as could be ; Decent dual camera arrangement ; Long-lasting battery life ; Sumptuous 18:9 display

So-so signal ; Sometimes alerts are overkill ; Glass is a fingerprint magnet (and may smash under impact) ; No wireless charging ; No 3.5mm headphone jack (aah) ; Do we really need that B&W camera?

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a defining handset; a flagship every bit as capable as its Samsung, HTC, LG and Apple competition. Which is a serious accomplishment for a company that has been yo-yoing between on-the-money and on-the-lam over the last couple...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Smartphone Review

Wow, but with minor pitfalls. With the Pro version of the Mate 10 series, we currently have the strongest Huawei smartphone in our test. The storage equipment and camera have been improved, and the Chinese phone now has an OLED screen in the 2:1...

bright and accurate-color OLED display ; LTE Cat. 18 ; Dual-VoLTE ; Dual-SIM ; aptX HD ; strong performance ; very good battery life ; very fast quick-charge technology ; water and dust proof (IP 67) ; high-quality build ; good cameras ; exact location...

no QHD+ resolution ; WLAN without MIMO ; no Bluetooth 5.0 ; no wireless charging ; no storage expansion ; no headphone jack

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a strong high-end smartphone, which is even fairly affordable compared to this year's competitors. The great FullView panel and the good display-to-surface ratio are compelling. With LTE Cat. 18 (max. 1.2 GBit/s) and...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Huawei's best phone yet

Excellent design ; Great enthusiast camera ; Class-leading battery

No headphone jack ; No wireless charging ; EMUI not for everyone

Not only is the Huawei Mate 10 Pro the most impressive device we’ve seen from Huawei to date, it’s also one of the most impressive flagships currently on the market, undercutting the competition while offering more in some key areas.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Sound quality isn't its strength, but otherwise this is a perfectly satisfactory smartphone.

Smart, slim, lightweight design ; Thorough spec sheet ; Smooth, detailed video ; Hi-res audio and HDR support

Music lacks excitement ; Colours a touch dull ; Strong competition ; No 3.5mm headphone connection

The sound quality can’t match the best, but this feature-packed flagship phone is otherwise more than satisfactory

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: software sadness

Huawei's premier smartphone is let down by bad software

Great materials and build quality ; Fast performance ; Exceptional battery life

Awful software design ; Frustrating software bugs ; High price

But it’s hard for me to see anyone taking advantage of that choice even if they had it and opted to spend $800 for the Mate 10 Pro instead of a phone from Google, Samsung, or even Apple. If Huawei really wants to play in the US, it not only has to work...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: The company's best phablet yet

Great screen ; Pretty design ; Powerful performance ; Above average camera

EMUI software is still full of bloatware

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro offers buyers fantastic hardware and OK software.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro camera: Enhancing auto mode through artificial intelligence

Smartphone cameras have improved significantly over the last couple of years, but the majority of people still use auto mode and just like to point and shoot. Many phones have manual mode for highly customizable shots, but Huawei is attempting to...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: A great phone that's not quite pro

Huawei's Mate 10 Pro is a great phone with a fantastic chip, stellar battery life, and a killer camera, but its "pro" features leave a lot to be desired.

Incredible fast chip with a built-in neural processing unit. ; Battery life is the best I've seen on an Android phone. ; EMUI 8.0 makes the leap to Android Oreo before other phones.

1080p display has a lower resolution than last year's Mate Pro. ; No headphone jack or expandable storage.

Slapping a pro moniker on a phone generally implies that it’s the best version of that particular model, but that’s not exactly the case with the Mate 10 Pro. Compared to the cheaper Mate 10, it has a lower-resolution screen, no headphone jack, and no...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

A review of the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei's flagship Android phone for 2017 with a 6in OLED screen and the new Kirin 970 processor.

The Mate 10 Pro is the best phone from Huawei yet and although the cameras aren't as good as the Pixel 2 XL's, it has a better screen, better battery life and just as much processing power.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Huawei has pinned its hopes on the Mate 10 Pro as its flagship phone for the year. It was designed to be just as good as the Galaxy Note 8 ( $929.99 at ) . And with its huge display, powerful processor and cool camera, it gets pretty close.

The Mate 10 Pro is sleek and solid, very powerful and takes great photos in both colour and black and white. It's also water-resistant and battery life is superb.

You can't expand the storage and there's no headphone jack. Its software extras are gimmicky.

While it doesn't have all the Galaxy Note 8's features, the Mate 10 Pro earns its place in the high-end big-screen pack.
